About the Founder

Jim Chetwode

Councillor · Chamber Chairman · Developer

I started TownStack because I saw first-hand how much towns struggle with their digital presence. As a serving councillor and Chairman of the Shaftesbury Chamber of Commerce, I understand the challenges councils face — the tight budgets, the committees, the need for something that actually works.

That's why I build websites that are fast, beautiful, and practically run themselves. I've already built four town websites, and each one has taught me more about what towns actually need versus what agencies try to sell them.

Why TownStack Exists

Most market towns are stuck with outdated websites that don't serve visitors, cost too much to maintain, and don't reflect the character of the place. Big agencies charge big money for generic templates. Local freelancers move on.

TownStack is different. We specialise exclusively in market towns. We understand how councils work, how BIDs operate, and how to access funding. We build websites that genuinely help towns attract visitors and support local businesses — and we stick around to make sure they keep working.
